Right.... I know I have been slow on this one but Ive finally got out there today to start on our lovely 205!
Started but getting off the broken bumper which I did and much to my relief the lower valance is A-ok!
However im a little concerned with the amount of rust around the fan housing
Picking head bolts up tomorrow and ordered new indicator off ebay today, almost have all the parts now!
Almost time to crack on!

Do you happen to know how much they are Ed?
And is it "structural" rust?
#65: Re: The Howey's Project White Retro Classic Author: spud_owen, Location: ashby de la zouchPosted: Thu Jul 01, 2010 2:02 pm ---- How you getting on with the rust? what is the rest of the car like, solid? drivers side looks worse affected, i think you could probably 'patch' the other side. How you find getting the bumper off mine was a right b**ch!

The bumper surprisingly wasnt too much hassle
Whats the replacement panel called?
Head bolts arrived today as well... gonna crack on on saturday now!
Indicator and headbolts are here now, just tensioner, front bumper and associated clips to buy now
#68: Re: The Howey's Project White Retro Classic Author: EdCherry, Location: WiltshirePosted: Tue Jul 06, 2010 4:02 pm ---- Headlamp panel is the replacement part name, with the bottom bar between each side being a cross member.
Think it only costs like £100.
It wont be structural unless its gone a far way back towards the strut tops. Just cut out and plate the areas if its rusted on the chassis rail near the front.

Not as yet
I did overtime instead to afford all the bumper and trim fixing kits because they cost a bloody fortune.
#72: Re: The Howey's Project White Retro Classic Author: spud_owen, Location: ashby de la zouchPosted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 5:45 am ---- nothing in the local scrapy?, i think the trim bits cost a fair abit as they lose there shape well easy! why the new head bolts???
#73: Re: The Howey's Project White Retro Classic Author: Howey, Location: Kings LynnPosted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 6:05 am ---- I got new headbolts because I was told that they were stretch bolts and could be used once only.
They were only like £16 anyway so not a biggie!
