#1: Rear Axle strip pictures and rebuild Author: vwaudi, Location: midlandsPosted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 3:44 pm ---- I posted this on the last site, so here we go again
I had the usual 206 rear worn axle problem, so after much deliberation I decided t buy a good second hand axle and refurbish it myself.
So the axle was 60 pounds and the bearings about 72 pounds. All finished it cost me about 130 pounds and about 6 hrs of time.
Note you will need access to hydraulic press to push torsion bars out of the arms and to assemble the bearings. But this could be done with a set of pullers and a decent vice.
The problem
Striped
second hand axle striped
