#1: Club 206 Project... Author: thelegacy, Location: London PostPosted: Wed May 05, 2010 1:44 pm
    ----
After a long break and thinking, I am resuming my GTi 180 Project. For those who don't recall, I already have this set of audioware installed:

Source Deck: Pioneer P88-RS Head Unit with USB adaptor
Front Stage: Hertz MLK Mille 165 Components (in custom front builds)
Subwoofer: Rainbow Vanadium 12" Subwoofer (in a 1cuft sealed enclosure)
Amplifier: Audison LRX 5.1k 5-channel Amp

The system also includes an uprated battery.

My long wait for my new exhaust system is finally over and I am now in possession of a full Scorpion cat-back. She is also going to get a new set of brakes, front link arms and a ITG Maxogen filter for the induction kit.

A hiccup with the Morettes has led me to abandon the conversion. Future modifications may include Catcam road cams or a low boost forced induction solution...

Comments welcome.

Ah really? What sort of price bracket are you looking at? I am currently tempted to give K-tech a call. They are offering a low boost turbo kit for the 172/182 Renault for a tad over £3000.

K Tec are absolute pirates, do not give them a penny of your cash.
Price bracket for the cams or for the supercharger?

The supercharger project. Wouldn't the cams give more power with forced induction? They gave Kyle nearly 200bhp If I remember rightly...

They had a bit missing the trim of one of the lights...sent it back straight away. Put me off the whole thing tbh...

Cams aren't a worthy upgrade on a supercharged engine, would rather get back close to what I paid for them. The supercharging conversion is still in the early stages so guessing prices won't be very accurate...

lol. i had to look that up because i thought meant Rtec!

Project update:

Induction kit now has the ITG Maxogen filter. With it's feather weight compared to the cone, it is a perfect fit on the GSR - much better than the previous cone filter.

Powerflow has been replaced with a Scorpion cat-back. Standard cat remains. Looks awesome and sounds good too. Can notice a boost in torque.

Will need a power check so I think it is rolling road time...

Next stage will probably involve catcams!

I am also in thoughts as to whether I shall ditch the sound system to regain agility and handling. The kit weighs the car down by nearly 40kg!
