Ordered this last week. Sportex competition exhaust. Got the mid section and back box this week, the de-cat should come next week as they had to make one.
Need to centre it a bit better
That's all for now.

Also the de-cat got delivered,
And on the same day the steering wheel and boss arrived. I opted for the OMP WRC suede semi dished wheel
#20: Re: Ste's Project Track Slag Author: st3v3n, Location: Liverpool Drives: 206 GTiPosted: Fri Oct 01, 2010 11:11 am ---- So I started fitting the steering wheel as I'm getting itchy feet with all the goodies building up in the garage and the car not off the road yet to really start work on it.
Bit blurry sorry
Drove to work with it and it feels so much nicer than the standard wheel
Roll on next week when hopefully a nice parcel from custom cages will be delivered.

#22: Re: Ste's Project Track Slag Author: st3v3n, Location: Liverpool Drives: 206 GTiPosted: Sun Oct 03, 2010 4:38 pm ---- Saturday am, stripping commences.
Called in an expert.
Bin for you sir.

Still on it, more updates to come later.
#23: Re: Ste's Project Track Slag Author: st3v3n, Location: Liverpool Drives: 206 GTiPosted: Wed Oct 06, 2010 6:00 pm ---- Bit of work on the loom, re-routed with a shorter path to the rear of the car. Original spec goes across the car under both seats then winds back again around the back of the boot. This one is trimmed down as well as having less wires in it. Save save.
Seat mounts. Sits nice on the OE mount points so bars are welded to those. You can also see the loom, now wrapped in kevlar protection.
40mm x 3mm angle iron for the seat mounts.

#25: Re: GTi Track Car Author: =ZiAn=, Location: SloveniaPosted: Thu Oct 07, 2010 4:03 am ---- I don't know how I could have missed this thread. Good work, but could you tell me how thick spacers did you put on the front so the wheels will clear the Brembos?
#26: Re: GTi Track Car Author: st3v3n, Location: Liverpool Drives: 206 GTiPosted: Thu Oct 07, 2010 1:55 pm ---- I have no spacers on the front. I'm using Team Dynamics Pro race 1.2 wheels with a 15mm offset.
#27: Re: GTi Track Car Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Fri Oct 08, 2010 11:40 am ---- looking good buddy.... Takes me back to the GT strip.... If you get problems with de-mist let me know, I have a good solution, Nice to see a complete strip instead of just removing the easy stuff... keep it up mate
#28: Re: GTi Track Car Author: st3v3n, Location: Liverpool Drives: 206 GTiPosted: Fri Oct 08, 2010 5:43 pm ---- I've hacked the heater box up and got rid of the climate control unit. All the servos have gone and the flaps have been set to demist permenantly. The two wires going to the fan will now be switched via a relay. It is now just on or off which is all I need. I split the unit in two to get the heater matrix out and aircon evaporator. I'll keep the rest as it's really light now.
