Just looking for the crank sensor on Servicebox and I think I've found it. I think it's number 5 on the diagram. It's only £11.83 though which I think is too cheap. Has anybody ever ordered a new crank sensor? If so how much was it?

Yep, 5 is indeed the crank sensor and 12 quid sounds
dead right. I got one for 10 pounds from Euro Car Parts.
As a matter of interest why do you want to replace it?

I'm changing it because the car is going in on Tuesday to be rewired. The relay has been replaced but the car is still cutting out especially when it gets a bit hot. It's thought that the original ECU is cutting the +VE supply to the Omex. This is the same +VE supply that feeds the injectors and coil pack. The Omex just triggers the negatives on the injectors etc. (The datalogging also showed power to the Omex being cut (making it reboot) but the Omex now has it's own power supply(no rebooting)).
The original ECU drives the tacho via a feed from the Omex crank sensor wiring. We think the original ECU is cutting power which initially shows as the rev counter dropping off (as power to it is being cut) and then the engine dies (as power is cut from the injectors and coil pack).
There's only one component that's not been changed and that's the crank sensor. So for the small cost I might as well change it.
There is evidence of mistakes being made with the wiring (soldered wires on the loom that have then been removed) and it's thought that the mistakes could have been found after it was too late i.e. possibility of damage to the original ECU. So the Omex is being wired to run the engine independently of the original wiring. A new Omex has also been tried and the same problems occurred.
