2.0 compared to 1.6?
Yes the BHP fiqures may suggest they are closely matched, but its like comparing standard wheatabix to chocolate flavoured wheatabix
Both french, close fiqures but the 206 (chocolate) is better day to day and more practical overal
As chocolate would give you that extra oomph on the day, and taste nice to compared to standard wheatabix where you have to add extras to make it achieve the same and generally taste as nice

Probably the best comparison ive ever heard. |
+1 to that!

If you crash in a 106 at 40 you will most definitely die. crash in a 206 and you will live.

there's no seem about it, a 180 would kill it lol as would the 138 at when you get to higher speeds because of the extra bhp. however the 106 gti is still pretty nippy the 106 just looks chavy when its modded and as people have said you will die lol.

when modded by a kn0bend, yes they look chavy. when done properly by someone who takes pride in their car or an enthusiast, they look very good!

Eeeerm are we talking about the same car? The stock 106GTi I know, goes better around corners then a stock 206GTi, has about the same 0-60 and is a bit slower from 60 forward. So saying it'll roll over is just a bit excessive... And talking about chavtastic cars, I think the 206 is in the same league with some people just throwing everything on them making them look like a Christmas tree on steroids.

ive owned a saxo vts (wich is basicly a 106 gti) and then gone to a 206gti, the saxo reved a lot higher and 0-60 was in my opinion slightly quicker than the 206. the saxo had a very long 2nd gear tho wich is why it hits the 0-60 in 7.5 secs, however the car does bog down in third due to this, and strugles to get to 100 and this is where the 206 would s**t all over it due to its tourque and better horse power. the saxo handled a bit better also due to its wieght but it realy didnt like wet roads, it would just understeer round the slightest of corners. where as the 206 grips well and you tend to get no drama, you do feel alot safer in the 206 aswell as it just feels solid where as the saxo was made of spit and some kleenex and would undress itself when you hit 90, i constanly had to replace bits for it due to poor build quality. ive personaly never looked back since getting my 206 gti and i love it to bits. i

also there's a 206 180 and not a 106 180.. so 206 wins

in other words 0-60 is all about the driver but anything other tht the 206 wins, the 206 is beter looking and more modern, and the handling is mucg of a much unles in the rain where again the 206 is beta and the 206 is safer so over all the 206 is beta

If it was a Sundance Yellow 106 GTi then Yes
^^ Looks well better than any 206 GTi 138 anyday!!
I also think the the shape of the 106 is better than the 206, lower down and looks meaner than the tall pouncy looking 206

I disagree mattie i think the 206 is so much better looking inside and out although i bet the 106 is more fun to drive but the 206 is a better car.
