Hey everyone, I used to be on this site a long time ago when I had my first car. It was only a 1.1 lx but to me it was the best thing ever! :). I always said one day I would get myself a GTI 180 and now that insurance is down to an acceptable level I think the time has come. I currently have a 1.7 puma which is a great car but it's just missing something. I have heard of the 180's putting out a real word 160-165 bhp, how much could be gained from a software remap alone? The reason I ask is that I plan on using it for track days and a little more power would be welcome

with no mods maybe 5-6bhp with breather mods 12bhp

They need to be live mapped, ive spoken to a local firm and they say 12bhp is the norm, but i will have to see it to believe it!

10-12bhp would be good, id also like to see it though :). I have heard they are not that easy to get any more power from so I'm not going to go chasing massive gains.
I realise a civic type R is probably a better fit and probably a slightly better car, but they really dont appeal to me at all.
