You will most likely find they:

Will have no idea about DRL's as its not UK standard spec.

Wont change the setting in the BSI configuration from the standard settings it rolled of the production line with.

EU forcing new cars to have them fitted is bad enough, just watch the death rates for cyclists, motorcyclists & pedestrians go up in the near future.

I reckon it will be just the sidelight circuit powered up once the engine is running, no dipped headlights.

Only one way to find out, wait for someone to give there BSI a tweak & see Laughing

Just wire the LED's into a ignition feed, then they'll come on when the ignition is on. And if you want them to go off when the dipped beam, use a 5 pin relay in the circuit.

You can't activate DRLs on a non-plexed with PP, I'll have to collar Rich and have a go on his 180 to have a look Laughing

Any ignition feed from the engine bay, fusebox, cabin loom would be sufficient.

Any 5 Pin 30/40amp automotive relay would do

Pin 30 = Goes to an ignition wire
Pin 85 = Would go to your positive feed on your dipped beam
Pin 86 = Would be your chassis earth
Pin 87 = would go to nothing
Pin 87a = Would go to your DRLs

It will be dipped headlights on permanently. Trust me.

Some countries have dipped headlights on all the time by law - eg some Scandinavian countries for example. This setting will be to make this legal.

In the computer system on my dad's Merc C250 CDI, the Daytime Running Lights option just puts the dipped headlights on whenever the engine is running.
