Hard to believe my 206 is now 10 years old. It was built in December 2000 and was registered in mid January 2001. I've owned it 7.5 years. It's now got 62k miles on the clock and at its current rate it will hit 70k miles in about 2020.

So I thought I'd take some pictures just like I do every year. I'd like to have taken some on a sunny day but it's sometimes difficult this time of year.

It's had a fair bit of money spent on it especially in the last 12 months and it's not finished yet. Plans for early next year include replacing most of the cooling system components. So my thermostat housing has been sent to DP Engineering to have a boss welded into it for the Omex coolant sensor, I'm going to fit some Samco hoses, a new radiator, new heater hoses at the back of the engine and a new coolant reservoir. The existing radiator is starting to crumble at the bottom so while it's all in pieces I might a well replace it.

Then I want a proper Jenvey throttle linkage and I fancy a trip to RS Tuning to check all is well. For some reason the engine is idling at 1300 rpm and needs to have been running about 30 seconds before I can touch the throttle, other wise the engine speed drops off.

State the obvious but miss the point of the post entirely Rolling Eyes

Looks good, hope it still looks like that in another 10 years!

I wonder why I bother with this place, 4 years and all members do is slag each other off. Even Barry Boys seems a nicer place at times...

Plates were removed to dry behind them. It's not been washed for 3 months so it was covered in dust and salt from a few weeks ago when it was really windy (despite it being in the garage).
As it's not going to get driven I wanted to make sure everything was as dry as possible. I had to switch the engine on and run it up and down the driveway to dry the discs and to get some heat into the engine bay to dry out the radiator...don't want to put it away in the garage wet...as it will stay that way - not good.

That's the finest example of a 10 year old 206 I've ever seen. Perfect!
