I've had this problem since day one, changing gear is very clunky and sometimes you have to wait a second or two before it will go into 2nd gear, it feels like something is stopping you from moving into a new gear

heres a video (ignore the handbag, its not mine - honest!) Laughing

Fixing this would be covered under warranty but my warranty does not cover diagnosing problems and the dealers charge a lot for this, and i've been struggling to find a garage that will have a look at it for me (too small a job, not worth their time). So if anyone could point out what the problem is or what I need to do to fix it that would be great, I'm hoping its something I can sort myself on the drive

Thanks everyone

Have you fitted different selector rods? ie the stainless ones that were knocking around on here?

It looks like its going into gear ok but the knocking will more than likely be either the selector rods or the rod that attaches to the gearstick to the selector arm on the box.Have you tried getting under it and giving it a good clean up and regrease?

I do have the group n linkages but they haven't been fitted Smile

Does it sound like a duff synchro?

When I get paid I'm investing in some axel stands and a jack so I will have a look

Thanks for the replies mattie, I will get a look underneath and tidy things up a bit, WD40 on the linkages and if that fails I'll replace the gearbox oil
