went through a massive deep puddle today, basically a river in the road, it was as high as the door sills, anyway on the way home the car started to lose power and started to sound more like a harley davidson exhaust.

have checked my spark plugs and one of them was soaking wet (water) not sure how it got in there. checked the oil, there's no water in it that i can see, going to get a cylinder pressure test tomorrow, any ieas as to what it could be?

Are you sure it's not just your exhaust blowing? Otherwise as you say, check spark plugs and injectors first before anything else.

most probaly the wet spark plug, makes the spark track down the wet outside of the plug rather than the core and creating a spark. Could also be a wet dizzy?

dizzy? i wasnt aware the 206 was made in the 50's?

the exhausts fine, its a weird one though because immediately when i start the car, it runs smooth as ever but after like 30 seconds it runs like a bag of s***. not really sure what to check for with the injectorsto be honest, just that they are not chocked? plus ive dried the plug and swapped the all around but still runs the same. whats a wet 'dizzy' sorry ...bit of a newbie to this.

what id say is to make sure all the connectors are dry, blow them out if neccesary. id then try a new set of plugs and check the compresion because if water has gone into the engine the chances are something is bent in there, be it a valve or a conrod.

it could run with a slightly bent conrod, a fella had it on here with a hdi, aparently it last a week with him before it blew but in all that time it was running like a bag of nails.

yer, must have been very slightly bent most bends ! see are propper bows

water does funny stuff to engines. burnsy- id say you have water in a sensor connector somewhere, id check them all.

ok, im guessing you do not know what is what? with your ignition off take off each connector 1 by 1 blow them out, and then reconect them.

first thing i'd have checked after driving through puddle caused the problem.

Also lots of WD-40 on all sensor plugs etc.

Now Driving a 1988 Volvo 360 GLT
2.0 8v RWD
