Last night i noticed that my right rear tail light was out so i left my car while i went to pub. Came back to the car turned on the lights and it was working again! So that rules out a blown bulb

Its just been on before i went out but when i pulled up it had gone out again

Ive tried wriggling the bulb about but nothing

Anyone got any advice?

Thanks x Smile

Tried the white connector under the glovebox in the passenger footwell? Not sure whether that would make one not work but when i had a problem with my brake lights before it had been kicked loose, so it was just a case of plugging back in properly, plus it only takes a few seconds to try it.

Any corrosion on the connector or pins on the cluster?
If you notice it again and the fault stays, try the other lights on that cluster too as if they all fail that could help fault finding, possibly a bad earth?

Sorry should have said that none of my rear lights worked not just the brake lights, could have just been a coincidence though that they worked after fiddling with that plug.

i had the exact same problem turned out to be a fault with the bsi unit under the dash. does your front side light and number plate light also go out?

when mine went wrong it stopped the sidelight front and rear on the driverside and the number plate lights. i was told they are all controlled by the same part of the BSI unit. i had it sorted by a local garage by re-wiring the the driver side headlight to by-pass the BSI unit all together and take the switchable live from the passenger light by a relay. seem to sort and ive had no trouble since. cost me about £65 if i remember rightly

Well ive had a look and every other light on the whole thing works except for the rear light which comes on at night

Could it maybe be a fault with the bulb or holder? Gonna take the whole thing out in a bit to check it out

Check to see if there's power going to the light, if there is. Then the wiring in the lamp is dodgey
