Yeah sorry about that just bought a new phone getting use to the typing on it! I dont wat to pay out and it not fit properly, its a self diagnosed problem, the rear offside whel shakes badly, lifted the car in the air and the whole unit connected to the beam that shakes, someone said it could be juat a bearing but its a long winded job and its easier to replace the whole assembly surely?

Yes it probably would be easier to replace the whole thing BUT how do you know the next one isnt going to go in 100 miles??

I'd get either a refurbed axel or pay to have the bearings done...same thing basicly, not cheap but its not going to go wrong again.

Thats very true, paying to do bearing will probably be cheaper than beam anyway

It was a case of they were the only garage i would trust with my car, so i paid the price for what i knew would be a good job.

I dont usually let anyone touch my car other than me or my dad and we couldnt budge the torsion bars so i paid the money lol

But yes i was rather saw after it Laughing Surprised

yep there all the same, except the gti ones, you can buy a reconditioned unit for £350ish, yes the abs one will fit yours, but you will probably find all have to swop everything accross anyway, as the shoes, brake lines etc will be better on your car id imageing, if its a scrapy job, ive had to change 2 now has a result of buying second hand, if you can afford it get a re-con one

GTi ones are the same.

The 180 and SW axles have lateral links, but they will also fit, but you need to slightly alter the exhaust, unless you take the lateral links off. But then there would be no point in getting those axles in the first place.
