I thought came to mind today, Ive just bought a 1.4 hdi and its done 69000 miles, looking through the complete service history there's no evidence of a timing belt change at 60000 miles, is there a timing belt or is it chain driven? if its belt i best rush off t'garage for a quick change lol

its belt driven , if it hasnt been changed its over due

Any ideas on prices for these? Dont fancy doing it myself and im getting quotes of 350+, not sure how much it usually costs

,All HDI engines need the timing belt change on 100,000 Miles,but it's better to be on the safe side always

so i could leave it for about another 5k, im skint at min it will be bout a month or two before i change it!

last one i did was about £180 inc waterpump and antifreeze

sadly mate its down my mums way in stoke, ive used the guy religously since ive been driving, same with my old man hes always used him, he always seems to be a good price + very good work
