hi all. i just lowered my car and a week later ive got a knock/clonk on the rear. only done about 20 miles. ive checked for play in the back wheels and there's no noises not even from the axel bearing. i put a bar under the wheel and lifted the wheel up and down. i even rocked the car side to side but still no noise. i only get a knock at low speeds round corners. can any help!! am i checking the axel bearing wrong? cheers

I think with the axel bearing you just see if there is any play isn't it, could in not be the exhaust knocking or maybe worn bushes on the supporting arms?

You say you have gone 20 miles, has the knock been for all of that time? or has it only started are lets say after 15.

I think it is the anti roll bar, as i also had this after my gti was lowerd, it started knocking when going over bumps (sounded like i had drove over a loose drain cover) is the anti roll bar inside the rear axle ???

anti roll bar is inside the axle tube so if you did not disconnect while lowering the axle it would have come off by itself as the arms have been moved, best taking off the two end caps on the arms and having a look . easy enough to do.
