hey guys,
Ive just used a syringe to take some coolant from expansion tank and its a muddy brown colour. Dont know when it was last changed! Does coolant normally go this colour when its reached its sell by date? lol i mixed some of it in a glass of water to see if there was any oil in it and it looked like most of it was sediment as it started to sink to the bottom! nothing floated on top! just wondered if this is what usually happens? Cheers Joni

Be worth a flush through and change. Is there much coolant in the mix? sounds like a lot of rust in the water.

I don't think that happen cuz of adding tap water to the mixture, but it would be much better to use disteled water with the mixture.
But since your coolant is muddy and brown color, then as they said,it must be mixed, with green ones,or blue one, because I think that Peugeot use the red one, anyway, change it and see what happen, not a problem since you don't have oil.

If you use just water it will corrode the system because proper antifreeze coolant has rust inhibitors which protect it.
Just flush it out and change the coolant
