finally figured out the cause of my rattling! iafter spending hundreds on new bearings, drop links, ball joints, top mount bearings and the like it was still rattling from the passenger side and the other day i opened the bonnet and kicked the wheel and the top of the mount moves a little and creates a rattle. i thought it was loose but actually looking at the threads there is a lot more showing on the passenger strut top than the drivers side and there is a washer or 2 missing from it. my stupid question is, can i leave the whole strut attached to the car and just remove the centre nut from the top mount and replace the parts without damage? or will i need to at least compress the springs lol i just figured if there is nowhere for the spring or top mount to go will it just stay there or am i in for a world of hurt money wise if i do that? Laughing

Cheers

Chris
