When I first picked it up.

87k miles, all the standard GTi stuff, climate control, half leather interior

Just bought a new coolant sensor, as it's currently reading 0, and overfuelling to hell as it's choking the engine.

Got a set of nimrods to go on, as they are 15"s on at the minute with no tread left on the front tyres, which means the speedo reads 90 when I'm doing 70 and when I hit standing water it was like sliding down a hill covered in snow. Not the most amusing experience.

Anyway, need to remove the rear lights and get some phase 2's on there, exhaust backbox needs to come off for a standard exhaust I think, I'm too grumpy nowadays to be interested with loud exhausts Very Happy

Will give it an oil and filter change, and dig inside to see what condition the cambelt is in.

Will probably replace the pipercross cone filter it currently has on, even if it's just for another new cone

Update 17/05/11

Fitted coolant sensor, oil and filter changed, Nimrods picked up and put on, looks and feels much better now.

Refitted the standard air box and filter so no longer has the Pipercross foam filter.

Took the car into powerflow to fix the terrible welding on the exhaust along with the stupid loud backbox sorted out. They put on a new backbox and clamps and re-aligned the sytem, fitted my new lambda sensor too (this car only has the 1).

How it's looking now:

Update 18/05/11

New track rod end, rear wiper arm and blade, ph2 washer jets and number plate light arrived.

Fitted the jets and light, will have to wait on the track rod end and the old wiper arm lug seems to have rusted ONTO the bolt and come off the actual arm itself, so there's no removing that just yet.

Decided the weather was nice enough to do the track rod end:

I ground the rear wiper bolt off the lug and fitted the new rear wiper as well.

Should ensure an MOT pass on saturday now.

Update 19/05/11

Replaced fog light with standard one and fitted the SP fuel cap, completing the majority of the SP set (arches, spoiler, grille, mats, fuel cap).

Update 21/05/11

MOT day! It failed however, on rear brake pads, which I kind of knew about but hadn't had the time to sort out. A quick trip to GSF and a set of Bosch rears were mine for about £20. Fitted them this afternoon but will have to wait to get it retested.

Also changed the rear lights to a nice set of phase 2s.

Don't argue the opinions of idiots.

Yeah I will be selling them mate, as soon as the nimrods arrived. No idea what they are, think they are 'wolfrace' wheels. The front tyres have about 1mm of tread and the rears are ok, so I'd just swap them over. Probably only ask like £25 for them all (excluding postage - you'd have to either collect or pay for a courier).

All atrocities will be removed. Already started peeling some off, Ape was helping remove the stickers too. Hair dryer and white spirit at the ready for those bin bags though.

Aim is to just get it looking nice and fairly standard again really. Don't know why, I like the standard look tbh. Especially in a runaround.

Will do mate, I'm from Northampton, about 10 minutes off Junction 16 of the M1. Or at least that's where the 206 is at the moment. Nimrods should arrive on friday or next monday, so I will let you know.

Ah right, fair dooz! Smile Looking at it, by the time you get your other wheels on, get it de-tinted and get original lights back on it, it'll look the part!

Chris - you did not bad making that sort of profit from a GTi, they're hard to profit on these days, that's for sure.
