Hi everyone, total noob, just bought a 206 GTI and I am doing it up, but it failed MOT, most of which I have sorted, apart from the handbrake doesnt fully engage, as I put new discs and pads in, they told me to sand the pads down which I did but didnt make too much difference I think?
I noticed when putting the new pads in that I have to turn the cylinder in to get them in, do you think bringing this out a bit will help?
Also, not part of the MOT, but they stated that my rear suspension has no play in it at all, I think the last owner may have stiffened it?
Will new shocks fix this??
Thanks for any help!

If you really want a less stuff rear, change the shocks back to standard.

So changing the rear shocks will make it "springy"?

even uprated shocks should have movement in them, its either the shocks are knackered all together or possibly your rear beam is shagged.

Because of the stiffness? They know f*** all if they think that's the torsions bars..
I have spax shocks and they seem rock solid but they aren't actually. Just change the shocks you can get second hand oem ones for a tenner off ebay.

Why would seized bars make it stiffer..?
