Hi Everyone,
I have just joined the site having come across it, glad I did really good site and I am on my second 206.
I currently have a 52 plate 206 SW Si and over the last month a really irritating rattle has started. I looked at it with a friend and from what we could work out, it is within the tank. I was wondering if anyone has had this occur and what the best action to take is.
Any information would be greatly appreciated

does your fuel gauge work? it could be a bit of the fuel pump thats broken off. alternatively it might not be the tank at all, if its in the tank youre gonna have to take the whole thing out i guess..

I wouldnt have thought you would hear much of a rattle from inside the fuel tank.
Could it not be the rear Axle or the boot ect

When we removed the fuel tank from the 205 we found an old fuel pump rolling about in it!

Was it not one that you dropped in just after opening it...

I can honestly say it wasn't anything to do with us.
Like someone had dropped the old one when replacing it, and just left it in there .

maybe they put it there for extra power, 2x fuel pumps means 2x fuel which in turn means 2x power, obviously

We went through the whole rear of the car and zeroed in on it being around the front middle of the tank. inc a compartment there. not sure if that was the pump as I thought that was on the driver side of the tank. Everything works fine gauge etc its just irritating as hell.
Thing is I am new to working on cars lol normally working on golf course equipment so forgive any naivety in anything I say.
