Noticed this morning when I got out of the car to close our gate, that my 3 brake lights were on. Had to change a bulb about a month ago, and used one that I found in the garage - correct size and rating and it worked, so I assume perhaps being old and previously used, this had caused a "short". I took out the offending bulb and tried again, but they are still on!
Any ideas please? Hubby got day off tomorrow so I can use his van but he is going to so pleased having to spend the day sorting car electrics - his favourite
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Check the brake switch behind the glove box, thats usually what causes it.

Wow that was quick, thanks. When the rain stops for a minute I'll go and have a look!
Cheers
PS Still chucking it down, so in the meantime, is the switch adjustable/repairable or is it likely to be new switch time? Just wondered if I ought to order one today to try and get it for tomorrow?
Thanks again!

Look up in the passenger footwell. White switch plugged into a metal bar.
Just plug it back in or give it a wiggle.
Had any passengers with long legs recently?

Thanks all, Job done, although plug is so wobbly might happen again, but atleast I'll know what to do next time.
What a stupid place to put it! Is this because they are made for LHD market or are LHD ones in the opposite footwell too?
No passengers with big feet, but my 11 year old son now taken to riding in the front, and after he's shoved his coat, school bag etc into the footwell, there is not much room left for his feet, so I'll blame him!
