Firstly I will explain why I did this and show you some short clips of my car having a fit mostly for entertainment value.

Car running on 2 cylinders (fixed via mending a wire for the o2 sensor but that shouldn't have caused that anyway)
Overfueling
A number of unexplainable ECU errors
Wipers broken
Car having seizures (see videos)
Headlight coming on whenever they want
Electric windows not working

(I think that is everything)

s798.photobucket.com/a...eo0011.mp4

Anyway!

It starts but I am still having a few problems.

The electric windows and central locking still do not work so that is another issue.

The Airbag, stop and brake light are on all the time which did not happen before. Why are these on?

The ECU might still have codes on them from when it was in the last car?

Just a guess, I dont really understand how it works lol

Nah as the ELM light would be on. Those lights never store a fault on the ECU

Can't watch videos here but I'll have a look later.

EML might not come on if there are faults.

Windows, have you checked to see if there is voltage going to the switches?

You made sure the airbag and ABS ECU are plugged back in?

Did you get the right ECU and BSI from the same types of car?

Lets forget the windows for now.

ECU and BSI are identical, everything is plugged in.

I have just found that I am still having original problems. The lights come on when the key is out and the cluster is flashing everything at me as it was doing before.

It has just decided not to start; I went to put my good battery back on and its doing what the videos show and that's it. Before changing the battery has solved this but its not any more. non-started once again.

Does it have autolights?

Are all connections clean and secure?

Have you looked at the COM to see if that is faulty? [if you mux]

No autolights, they come on without the sidelights as well.

Plugs were all clean and a made sure they were seated properly. However it did this in the morning as well before I swapped everything over and on one occasion a while ago.

How can tell if the COM unit is faulty by inspecting it? Could that be the cause of the dial issue?

I tested the battery earth too it seems fine.

I will start looking at the wires. Any ideas on which ones I should check?

Start looking at the connector blocks on the BSI to the dashboard [cluster]

Dodgey communication. If you have a haynes, you want the canbus wires.

Double checked the plugs. Took the cluster out and its still making erratic beeping. I tried gentle tugging etc on that and the block plugs.

I do have a haynes but I can't find it.

The power cuts out on second ignition but there is power (lights flashing, beeping and relays clicking) when its off and the key is out.

I unplugged the plugs one at a time ether side of the comms unit but nothing changed. I have a spare ignition barrel that came with the ecu I am going to try that.

Again that didn't do anything. Also it seems I have no power to anything else; the interior light, 12v plug and MFD do not work.

However I introduced a third battery (unfortunately its crap) and the headlights came on and so did all the cluster lights when I put the positive on. However it went onto ignition fine and it started.

Changing the battery seems to solve the problem but sometimes the old battery's work sometimes they don't.

Whats going on?

Still think there is a loose wire somewhere

Try checking
Black 10 pin connector on BSI. Pin 8 & 10

Blue 18 pin connector on dash. Pins 2& 4

They are canbus wires
