Oh yes...... I have done everything in stages on my project so people can see that it can be achieved and how to further improve it. As for reliability, I have thrashed the pants off this engine and it held together ok.
Next stage is now nearing completion for more HP

tbh mac I have no idea, I know I would want to fit a stainless manifold but the only I could find is supersprint at nearly £500, also some cat cams when i could afford them

The biggest problem is spending the money wisely, You need to look at the end result and work out what will work together. For example will the cams work with any future mods? will the manifold match up with what you will fit to it later when a simple Raceland one will suffice for £150?
Take your time to read the projects like Edwards, mine and Kingdoms for example. There is a lot to think about.
I am always on the other end of the phone if you want a chat about it

Pointless remapping if you are then fitting TBs which need standalone ECU.
I'd get a private plate first to cover the cars age.

you might be regret if you cam your road car,
mild cam give you nothing and hight lift cam just push your power band up.
read though RR printout of newman ph3 or piper285 cam

if it was me mate id spend it on a 180 interior and a private plate and then lots of little touches
if you do decide to get a 180 or different car these can be sold and if bought at a sensible price you wont lose any money.
to get a really notcible difference in power will cost probably about the same as the price difference between yours and a half decent 180 and will never add any real value to the car and cant really be removed when you sell the car
