I am now selling my angel eyes headlights and replaced them with the standard headlights and re-connected them as standard but the main beam won't come on same time as dipped? I am sure all connectors are in, can someone tell me how the relay works please and what it is?
I have MOT tomorrow.
After checking the MOT test history, this one has failed every year since 2006:
Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive (7.3.D.2b)
And this one failed in most tests:
Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits (7.3.D.2b)
what they mean?
Cheers all!

The relay is there to power up both sets of lamps when you go to main beam. If not, dipped drops out and you only have the main.
Before the website crashed there were some diagrams and threads on this. I'll have to have a look to see if my how-to is still around ... I converted a 1.4 HDi to clear dual bulbs headlamps a couple of years back.
On the emissions, it could be simply the lambda sensor has failed or something else is causing the high emissions (hole in exhaust, duff cat, not hot enough before the test, etc). You'll need to get the car on a code reader.
But if it failed every year since 2006, how is it on the road?!?!?
Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
