Hi All,

I have a 2001 206CC. It is the 2.0 16V engine. Engine is running spot on.

Today, it was back in the garage for minor work, and I was given a 206 GTi as a courtesy car.

Driving the GTi, it feels nowhere near as powerful or torquey as my CC, where it should be more so, as it is lighter (albeit not a great deal).

It was a bit of a disapointment to be honest, I was expecting it to be a bit of a hoot!

Is there any way of telling if my car has got a more powerful engine? Because as far as I know, they GTi and the CC have the same engine/gearboxes etc.

Or have I just got a good one?

Current Motor: 2001 206CC 2.0 16v
Old Motor: 1999 206 GTI 2.0 16v
Mods: Black Challenger's, Powerflow Exhaust, SP Grill, Lowered on Bilstein Shocks and Springs. Phase 2 Rear Lights, Bootstrip & Centre Console, Morrettes, Heko Wind Deflectors, SP Arches

I think you have it mixed up!

The courtesy GTi felt much less powerful and torquey than my CC

If it was the other way round, then that is what I would have assumed! Lol

Courtesy car has been rented out to people who don't give two about it, and has probably been poorly looked after. Recipe for a knackered engine

It is a peugeot specialist garage, he has all sorts there!

I doubt the car had been poorly looked after, it only had 68k. It wasn't on his forecourt because it was too old for him (2002)

I will have to pop into Peugeot with the Chassis and Engine Number and see what their computer says

You just have a good one, stop worrying about it.

Absolutely. Especially when your own car is in under waranty and you're pi$$ed at peugeot. Twisted Evil

I find they're especially quick over speed bumps compared to normal cars. Twisted Evil

I'm not worried. I'm happy...
I prefer the CC, my other half prefers the GTi but I don't care!

Thanks for your replies

Could be that your CC is less well insulated & flexes a bit more so gives the illusion of going faster.
