Guys,

How many miles do you recon a 1.4 8v petrol engine would do on a tank of petrol, just normal town driving?

cheers

Mine does 300-350 to 3 quarters depending on my driving and going off my app i get 46mpg at best, 44 on average and 37 with the aircon on those figures were with a dead head gasket too so i can probably get more now.

*EDIT* Probably should have mention i have a 1.4 8v

Now a 2010 Renault Megane Coupe owner

i get about 300-350 depending how short and stop start traffic i get on my 1.1 8v on £40 petrol at 1.349 litre,i only drive to school/college,gym and other short journeys needed. Furthest is 50miles at one day randomly. Normally last me a month or so.
Must now include your mileage be worst due to weather now.

How do you lot drive?

With careful driving i can get around 350 out of a full tank on my 180.

With the occasional B road blast i can get around 300

In my old saxo VTR i used to be able to get 450 out of a full tank that was a 1.6 8v quite similar engine to the 206

A tank isn't very big. I'd say a meter.. Not miles.

The OP is talking about town driving, lots of stop starting. B roads and steady speed cruising will give better returns

Lucky! I think on another mpg thread it was apparant that 180s were getting just as good if not better mpg than 1.1s and 1.4s

Probably because the engine doesn't have to work as hard to make the same power

You put fuel in a tank not 'miles'?
