Before I go to the effort of taking out my standard 2001 206 gti head unit can someone tell me if it will take a ipod connector lead, does it have inputs?
I already have a disc changer fitted, not sure what that plugs into though.

No, there is an adapter you can get for the cd changer input but it means loosing the cd changed. Might as well just upgrade and gain better sound quality as well.

The adapter is quite pricey. Spend the lil bit more for better looks and sound quality ![Smile Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

Actually you can buy a jvc or kenwood cd mp3 aux input unit on fleabay for under 50 quid brand new so probably that's a better idea.
It's just that I'm a big fan of keeping everything standard as it's less noticeable to thieving scum.
A ripspeed cmr2000 head unit which is halfords own brand is a good option, they were selling them refurbished for less than 50 quid a couple of years back, I had 2 for mine and the Missis and you could put memory card, usb, 3.5 mm jack, cd mp3
