Hey everyone.

The problems began when I noticed that I had no reverse lights, after changing the fuse and then replacing the reverse light switch on the gearbox the reverse lights worked fine.

After a couple of weeks, my partner told me that again I had no reverse lights, so I went straight to the fuse box and changed the fuse, which had blown again! The reverse lights then worked, but within the same day the fuse once again blew!

The fuse in question is:
FUSE 1 10A IN ENGINE FUSE BOX,

and according to the cars handbook it controls

PRE-HEAT UNIT (DIESEL), WATER IN DIESEL SENSOR, REVERSE LIGHTS SWITCH, SPEED SENSOR, AIR FLOW SENSOR (DIESEL)

As yet I have left the blown fuse in, and my problem really is where to go from here.

When starting the car from cold it is very jumpy/splutter, I concluded that this may be because the fuse has blown and therefore the (pre-heat unit) is not working, however the fuse also controls the speed sensor, which i assume is connected to your speedometer, which is working fine.

So my question really is has anyone had any similar problems, and if so what did you do?!? or in your experience what, out of the things the fuse controls do you think could be faulty?

The car is a Peugeot 206 2L Turbo Diesel HDI and is a 03 plate.

Cheers for your time, and if you can help then I would be glad to hear from you.

Sorry about the essay! Very Happy

Clive

Unplug the reverse light switch, replace the fuse and check in a couple of days to see if it's blown again.

If it's not blown, then you know it's a problem in the reversing light circuit.

Or just check all the circuit.
