I swapped the plugs in mine.. It had Denso ones in it for some reason - gapped at around 2mm!!

Put in the standard Bosch plugs (from the dealer) gapped correctly and it was like a new car to drive.

So I took my partners Gti180 for a spin the other night and couldnt help but think 'it must have something up with it'

It feels flat as a turd, torqueless with no real fizz up the higher revs?

I myself have a Ph1 Clio 172, and it would utterly shame the 206 in a straight line (and the corners Wink )... Leading me to again think there's something wrong with the 206??

It doesnt have any running issues at all, no management lights etc... It just isnt packing as much of a punch as I would expect.

Do these suffer any blind problems? VVT Solenoid packed up or along those lines??

Cheers

172 is quicker in a straight line anyways, but not to the point of the 206 feeling slow and like garbage, maybe it needs a service including new plugs?

never found mine slow at all compared to similarly powered hatches but straight lines not what a hot hatch is about its all about the twisty b-roads and with a good suspension set-up the 180 is awesome

I seem to remember reading on auto data should be 0.9mm gap on the 180 engine

could be wrong though

Update

Ran a diag on the car to find the following:

Intermittent fault. Variable timing electrovalve Locked at the lower stop.

and

Intermittent fault. Variable timing electrovalve Locked at the upper stop.

Thoughts?

First clean the VVT solenoid, if that doesnt cure it then replace it, there cheap enough.

Peugeot / Citroen part number 1920 GR SOLENOID VALVE £78.65 including the VAT should be the one.

Toyota C-HR GR Sport 2.0 Hybrid with JBL & Alcantara packs.

a) Everything you raced was turbo powered

b) you cant drive fast in a straight line

c) there was something wrong with your 180

I can get it a tad cheaper (£60.56 Inc Vat) so I'm just going to get a new one instead of faffin about with the original.

See how it goes Smile

Did you manage to sort this issue out with the electrovalve? Recently had similar performance issues, pug diag came up with intermittant electrovalue they reset the system but it feels lagging again, need to take it back really and get it checked again.
