Thanks Jase Smile

now to the more pressing matter, as said before I'll be buying some uprated mounts. I've found the Vibra Tecnics/spoox mounts but are quite expensive but on the other hand, I found Jamie's suggestion of Baker mounts on the forum. But those are supposed to be for 205/309 so Can anybody tell me exactly what mounts do I need if I want to buy them from Baker? (and yes I know I'll need to buy the gearbox mount from Spoox.)

Also if I'll be buying stuff from Spoox, I was thinking of ordering an additional rear anti roll bar for a bit of added stiffness. I was looking at these two (the only two I can find):

www.spoox.co.uk/catalo...2f435c3448

And

www.spoox.co.uk/catalo...2f435c3448

Is the extra heavy duty acceptable for a daily driver or will it me too much (both of them are adjustable)?

A few more pics for this thread Smile First of all a package of Motul motor oil from Germany. Including postage it was less then half the price I'd pay here Rolling Eyes Evil or Very Mad

Tin can Laughing

Also received a gift Laughing

As said before I managed to break the top engine mount (we later found out that the lower one was torn as well) Confused Mad That lead to another upgrade so I bought the top and lower Baker engine mount and the vibra technics for the gearbox mount (hasn't arrived yet).

We also added an extra aluminum pad to strengthen the top mount as they are prone to breaking.

welds:)

Installed:

the new mounts:

Old top mount:

It all went according to plan until we figured out the lower mount was too narrow....5 milimeters to be exact Mad So for anybody else that was going to buy Baker lower engine mount be aware IT DOESN'T FIT WITHOUT MODIFICATION!!!!!... But we aded another steel bush to the mount and fixed the problem...So I can almost say it's half solid Laughing

Old mount:

New one:

O bloody hell Mad

This has really lowered the response time, it accelerates instantly and overall feels a lot more solid. You can fell quite a bit of vibration when starting cold but it settles down after a couple of seconds.

Also regarding my previous posts we've changed the ARB for the GTi180 ARB. 1mm difference but it feels like a light year.

Now I only need to fix the right suspension arm and it'll be as good as new (okay better) Twisted Evil

I bought the 205 Baker engine mounts because they're the same (top mounts that is). They don't have anything listed specifically for a 206 Wink

The ARB looks just like torsion bars, you just replace the old one with the new and that's it Wink I can take a photo of it if you want? But there is a noticeable difference in the behavior of the car, it's much more planted now. BTW I think Edward wrote a How-to for the ARB if you'll change it as well Wink

Things are finally starting to move along now Very Happy

We had a road trip today, picking up a new engine so it can be modded slowly and still keep the car running everyday.

I got it at a very competitive price of 300€, it has done 200kkm (but that really isn't a problem as it's going to be rebuilt) and has spent the most of its life time in a Peugeot 607 Cool

So we checked the engine then loaded it into the car and went back home...Quite a pleasant 300km I must say Laughing

But there has been a bit of a change if anybody notices...

Almost back at the garage

Did you figure it out yet?

If you haven't here's a clue Twisted Evil

Stay tuned Cool

Ew12 = 2.2-litre isn't it?

EDIT: The EW12 was introduced to replace the low-pressure turbo variant of the XU10. It has a bore of 86 mm and stroke of 96 mm, for a displacement of 2231 cc. Citroën only uses it on the C8 MPV, while Peugeot, which has more a sporty image, uses it in the 406 SRi, 407, the 607 executive model and 807 MPV.

Model Output Notes
EW12 J4 - 158-163 PS (156-161 hp/116-120 kW) 16-valve catalyst

Heh yup its the bigger brother of the GTi engine...quite similar to the EW10J4 (only a bit taller), with a couple of J4S characteristics. It's going to be a nice winter project getting it up to the specs I have planned for it. And all progress will be photographed Laughing
