Hi
I am looking for some advice from the electrically minded people on here.
I have just tried to fit the electric window control with the folding mirror switch and the auto drivers window control.
My current control has the two manual window switches and the mirror control without folding mirrors.
When I re connected the battery, the negative terminal sparked and it blew fuse number 12.
I have removed the new control and put my old one back in. I have also put fuse 9 (rear electric windows, which i do not have) in place of fuse 12.
Can you please tell me what I did wrong? Surely this control should work?
Am I ok to remove the fuse connect everything up and then put the fuse back in, or is there something wrong with the control?
Thanks

Well your old switch didn't have the Auto Feat.,so every time you plug it in,the fuse will be burned,to fix this, you need to use the PP2000,and make the driver's window an Auto one in the configurations, and everything will work good

Ok that makes sense I guess. This will have to wait until I can afford pp2000.
So when I do it next time. Should I disconnect the battery, remove the old switch. Connect the battery again. Change the setting. Disconnect the battery. Add the new switch and then re connect the battery again?
Thanks

No need to disconnect the battery, just use the PP2000,and make sure it's activated, then plug the new switch, and all will be fine
Cheers

Can't see why that switch would blow the fuse, don't think changing the setting in pp2000 will change it. Did it pop before you tried the switch?

Known issue with multiplex 206 when you try & change a poverty spec switch to auto one shot.
Im not sure if its the actual cabin wiring loom or BSI unit that's different.
One shot unit is part of the switch, door loom & window motor are the same.

No idea, never really looked in to it in depth.
The fuse blowing straight away when the auto switch was connected says a +12 feed is short circuited to earth so its either the cabin wiring loom is different OR its something inside the actual BSI unit.
It will be break out the wiring diagrams & study time.
