hi guys, this is my 1st post so please be gentle, ps i know NOTHING bout cars!
My car suddenly jolted and lost power whilst driving in rain. The usual warning lights came on but where the clock is usually displayed it said Engine immobiliser fault, which quickly changed to Economy mode active. Car will not start, its trying to catch but wont.. Diagnostic tools from RAC cant connect to ecu, electric windows working but radio/ cd isn't.70000 on clock so its still should have plenty of life, just lies dead on the drivr now. dont wanna go dealership as they tried to ripp off both my sister over 2000 saying she needed a new hydraulic pump on er roof when actually it was an oil chnge needed !

The main earth lead from the battery - terminal will most likely be broken on top of the gearbox.

Also check the battery connections.
