As said above mate it's tight and not slipping.
Seabook: yer I'm thinking it's on the way out I'll see Over the weekend if the light comes back on as getting an alternator off rick-gti tomorrow just in case lol
My dad thinks it's the bushes inside that may be warn out as as it works but needs some help with the revving. I can see why many have said the belt but it's all tight and in good condition. So I'll swap the bushes over from my newer alternator and see what happens.

I haven't had time rick I'm going to try swapping the bushes over 1st if that don't solve it it's internal.
It's as if it only starts the charging cycle when it gets to a certain revs so may be the bushes me old man thinks.

What external bushes are you swapping?

The ones in the regulator, I've changed them in drills ect before so thought it was worth a go only a 5min job BUT the problem seems to have gone!! I'll just keep hold of the alternator I acquired from rick as a spare or until mine finally packs up.

Last september I had the same, exact same problem. Accelerating give the car 'hiuce' (obviously) so as long as I had me foot on the big 'go' pedal, I was fine.
Changed the battery which gave me about 3 weeks of joy. Joined the AA @ £14 a month (includes repairs to the car and all the other normal benefits), which they then changed my alternator and a brand new battery for just my excess of £35. Not bad really
But my problem was exact same as yours. Car would even try to die, without actually driving.

Sounds like the symptoms I have, it's been ok so far this week really strange 2bh, like it needs to spin up to speed to turn it on. but like I said I've got a spare alternator in the garage now so if mine does go I've only got to drive 5mile to get I fixed.
