Took her in for her test today had high hopes seen as iv replaced and repaired alot over the past year, but alas she failed Sad two easy fixes but two that I'm not so sure about...

1. Registration lamp not working
2. Handbrake no reserve travel

Can sort both of them but these two :s

3. Front lower passenger side ball joint - whole thing needs replacing found the part for £42 from GSF but not sure how big a job this is??
4. Inner CV gaiter has unclipped and al the grease has come out he also said when it's raised on the ramp it's not sitting level so when I'm driving its making a clicking sound because it's bone dry. He advised to just fill with grease and recipe but will this sort the problem or will the driveshaft on that side need replacing Sad

Other than the above two no rust or any other problems Smile

new shaft is going to cost you quite a bit.

The two easy fixes are weekly maintainance stuff which you really shouldn't have failed on.

3. The ball joint - I couldn't be bothered doing mine, which is against the norm for me, but was charged £82 inc VAT and Labour.

4. Not sure. Have you asked him for a price? Although if it is dry, thats not a good sign, as it has obv. been a problem for a while.

Has this guy given you a quote for the work?
