Preplexed 2.0HDi, 2001 (Y). Found underneath the carpet - Passenger side. Taped up.
Didn't think side/seat airbags came on these models. So a little stumped.

No. CD changer is in boot. (Not that it has one) but when I had a stripped GTi that's where it was.

might be for the airbags then. Get someone with airbags to check there's. The 2000 gti i have just stripped didnt have them.

Its a weird type of connection block, Not see one like that anywere near there before,
Its has a orange think cable so my opinion is its for the airbag, even though the seats iv had , the connection block looks nothing like that lol!

If the front seat is removed & you then lift the carpet you will find the green & also the red plugs for the seat airbag is cable tied to the main wiring loom.
Feed the 2 plugs up through the slot in the carpet.
