another spoon feeding session please,
the short of it is the drivers seat air bag has been deployed which i have now replaced but obviously the dash light is still on. after doing some reading i believe there to be 2 sensors, one under the steering column which deals with driver and passenger air bags (?) and the one for the curtain air bags are in the sills.
is there a sensor on each side and where abouts is this secondary sensor located. car is a 2002 206 gti
please help as new MOT rules wont pass a car withe dash llights illuminated

You need to get a new Airbag ECU if I remember correctly.

Thanks to VOSA c**k up over the new MOT rules you can just cover the airbag warning light with black tape & it will be pass & advise
On a multiplexed 206 the 1 & only arbag ecu is under the front ashtray controls ALL the airbags & seatbelt pretensioners.
There is a satellite sensor on each sill for the side & curtain airbags that feeds impact information to the main airbag ecu which will decide if an airbag / airbags / pretensioners need to be fired.

If you remove the front ashtray you should be able to see the airbag ecu ( might need to move the carpet flap )
Its best got at after removing the center console, airbag ecu is sometimes hidden under a flap of carpet.
If you have small hands & a 1/4 drive socket set you MAY be able to get at the 3 nuts & free the ecu but its easy enough just to remove the center console & not have to struggle.
3 x 10mm nuts secure the airbag ecu to the floor.
ID numbers are on the unit sticker OR get the crash data erased from the memory

If you go replacement airbag ecu route you need an unfired one from a multiplexed 206 with side airbags.
If its also has curtain airbags the airbag ecu would need to be reconfigured.
A multiplexed 206 with just front airbags ( loads of these type about ) uses a different airbag ecu & one of those is no good for your car.
Easy option = get the crash data sorted on your own airbag ecu.

If it came from a 206 with curtain airbags it wouldnt really be cost effective.
Just as easy to get the crash data from his own ecu.

Then it would need reconfiguration to fit the 206 Bill_G has & that means either Peugeot Planet or paying someone else to do it
