I have spare engine parts here.... but needed one new wossner forged piston and H section conrod and a set of rings for starters..... the crank I have plenty of.... I am just glad the head survived as its been worked quite a bit

Lol mine was the outher way round mac my head was mashed needed a complete over hall and re-polish&ported then used my original bottom end as I had 2 engines so I could have the work done to one then just swap it over.

All the pics suggest valve has met piston not plug. People also forget that under the enormous dynamic loads the clearance between valves and pistons actually reduces with revs as the crank flexes and the conrod literally stretches.
It can also be a case of the hydraulic lifters not coping with enormous revs when you hit the wrong gear or even the belt jumping a tooth.
Tuned cams with or without skimmed heads need VERY careful cam timing and checking of clearances or the result are what you see in the picture.
