I want a performance exhaust to give my car a more sporty sound, not bothered about performance as I know it'll only add about 1 BHP.

Question is, do they actually sound sporty, in terms of sound - are they worth it at £400 for a cat back system? If so, which one. I want one that sounds loud (within reason, not like a subaru) and sporty but not like these chavvy idiots whose exhausts sound awful, like they are blowing raspberries.

Also, the bottom part of my exhaust (on the inside and around the edges) is black, does this happen over a long time or pretty quick? I ask because it would be nice to keep my new exhaust looking very shiny for quite a long time - possible?

Any advice?

Sound wise;
Janspeed: Louder, raspy-ish, pops Thumbs Up
Scorpion: Subtle, deeper sound

Its hard to explain exactly but best bet would to have a search on youtube

japspeeds on both of mine sounds spot on but if your going to be doing loads of really long motorway runs they do get a bit tiresome after a couple of hrs.

Janspeed the whole way - look at how the systems are made... The Scorpian uses the same silly piping as the standard which bends through about 2 miles of tubing to get to the bumper, whereas the Janspeed goes directly front to back. May not help so much with power - although technically it should, but also think more on weight reduction and heat transfer...

Makes sense...

MARTINIUS - just had to comment on the video... Very Happy

2 miles of piping ? there's no difference power wise between the 2 systems if you want a loud exhaust get the janspeed although its not a particulary nice sound.

Ok - 2 miles is a little bit overstated, but if you look at the two systems you will see what I mean... think of it this way... if the Janspeed was a roman road, then the standard (and Scorpion in this case) is a Welsh b-road.. Very Happy

Don't know if they make one for the 180 but I have a magnex system on my 138 I have had the centre box removed and that gives a nice deep tone. Burbles a little too and pops when I slow in the gears. Doesn't sound very raspy in the high revs either.
