i can understand the first comment i should not of said that but the guy seemed like he was trying to be smart he obviously does not know the refinishing trade it just insulted me a little but I do apologies to 20h!6.. and the second part I was just making a valid point ... if you carried on reading it also says "actually tom I can see where your coming from, it was just a simple solution to save time" ..... So I don’t really see what your trying to say .... I have said that I appreciate everybody’s input and criticism so what’s the problem i really don’t want a bickering thread can we please forget about this |
I wasn't bickering, I was saying you need to improve your customer skills.
Like when 20!6 said about your prices, instead of going "I can't be arsed with people like you", what you should have done was explain and justify why your prices are what they are, by explaining the process you go through compared to the cheaper option..... That way, the customer can see why yours is more expensive, and also more chance of them coming to you if you are more open and are making them aware. |

changing the subject ... just checked that city powder coat out and they must really be struggling for work i suppose minor repair is one of the main benefits of paint over powder coat and i personally just prefer paint more of a selection of colours ect

Does it really matter about City Powdercoaters? What do they have to do with this?

You can get chemical strip, shot blast, sand, powder coat then lacquered for £20 per wheel up to 18" at city powdercoaters.
Chill out, you asked for opinions, you'll get a shocking reputation in a second if you react like that to abit of competition. |

Sorry I missed that. But still? Why does that mean they are struggling for work?
They have ran that deal for about 2 years.
Surely 200 customers taking up ae Powedercoat at £80.
Is better than 10/20 at £130.

£40 a wheel isn't a bad price, but not one to "scream" or "go crazy over". Most people on forums will know people who can do it a lot less through connections. I can get them done for £25 a wheel locally whenever I want.
Not a bad price for Joe Bloggs off the street though.

probably due to them being a small workforce such as yourself but they have a cheap supplier of powder coat and have a vast amount of work.
been to their premises, it doesn't have the wow factor on the outside or the inside. they made a good job of my wheels and I got more than I bargained for.
when shopping for an item do you or do you not shop around? if the latest call of duty came out and one shop is selling for 45 and another for 25 would you buy the dearer one? this is the way of retail customers will shop around or turn a ear to word of mouth.
I really do hope your business does do its thing for you and does take off!

cheers ali and paul, powder coat isn’t my game I do paint I have been looking in to powder its a lot more expensive to set up, but if just talking about alloys its a lot more profitable ... and ali I’m curious you can honestly get wheels done in paint repaired, high build primered, based and lacquered and i don’t mean aerosol, only using top quality materials to a glass manufactures finish if so you’re doing super well ....
And paul i see what you’re saying bud but cod is a bad eg ... if it’s a service your buying then you do hunt about for the best price and best quality of work it’s just my preference but I personally don’t mind spending a little more to get the best .... Really appreciate your input guys.
