Like the title says, my car beeps every time I start it and says ABS Fault on the screen, but my car doesn't have ABS, so why is it saying this and how can I get rid of it? It's doing my head in!

What He Said Mine kept coming up with random messages when the battery was on its way out, replaced it and no messages appeared!

Pretty sure it doesn't have ABS, my mechanic friend checked it and said it doesn't have it. The battery seems fine to me, the car starts no problem and have not had any other battery related problem with the car.

Where is the best place for a new battery, should I get a new one or will a second hand one from a scrappy be fine?

Don't get a battery from a scrappy as it could be as bad if not worse than your current battery. Get a brand new one from local garage e.g kwikfit

Just checking, it wouldn't be the MFD would it? Perhaps it was from a car that had ABS and the error is from a previous car and hasn't been cleared? A mechanic had it on the computer to read the error and said it was an ABS one but the car definitely doesn't have ABS so doesn'twinow why it's saying that. It also had some other engine error codes as well he said he would have to check as he wasn't sure what they were.

So you had a mechanic check your car over... Why didn't he fix it?!

The car has no abs, how can he fix it? Although clearing the fault might help

If I go to the mechanic with a problem I expect it to be sorted and not to go home with same problem. Does this mechanic have Peugeot planet?

He cleared the code but it kept coming back again and also said there were some other fault codes he had never seen before but they related to the engine so he was going to check them out and would get back to me.

I didn't go to a mechanic intentionally, he was with my mate when I called over and he mentioned it to him, so he put it on his computer he had in his van. I don't even know who he is but I'm thankful he at least tried to sort the problem out.

Changed the battery over and the problem still persists. So it isn't the battery. Any other ideas?
