how much do i need?
and how can i drain the oil fluid as i never recall to see a drain plug is anywhere...
the fluid looks very black (level has been fine and had never been top up since i bought the car) when i check it few weeks back and i do like a change.
and how can i bleed the system?

to drain i would say undo the pipes from the rack (lowest point) and to bleed just top it up and keep turning the wheel full lock from left to right.

you can undo a pipe to drain it or i just used like a syphon and sucked the fluid out of the reservoir and topped it up with fresh fluid then ran the car kept turning it from lock to lock untilll it looked dirty again then repeated doing it untill it ran clean.
and you don't need to bleed it just going lock to lock a few time will purge any air out mate.

do i need any special tools to remove the pipe?
i presume i have to turn the steering wheel when engine is running? wheels on the ground or not?

ye you need it running but wheels can be on or off ground dont really matter but less strain on the system if off
tool no not really as long as you got a open ended spanner that fits (not sure on size tbh)

i hope the hayne manual would tell me how much fluid i need.....(left it in the garage....lol)
absolutely no luck in finding the capacity of the power steering pump

i was lucky i had 5 gallons sat in the shed so just done it 4-5 times lol i would get a bit spare as ok the pot don't hold alot but the pipes and rack soon add up in volume.

maybe 1lt for the pot but bet you use nearer 3 lts mate best to get to much than too little you gonna be pi**ed off if you run out and its not full just rember to keep turning lock to lock a good few times to get all the air out and keep topping up as needed its amazeing how much it drops

PAS fluid is quite expensive isn't it? Compared to brake fluid anyway...

haven't really check the price but i though is around 5-6 quid per litre?
though they are just ATF anyway...

According to Haynes the capacity for power steering fluid is 1 litre approx.
Works out about £20 per litre from dealer for the Total brand. Esso is cheaper by about £5, they also list the same stuff for auto box top up.
