Howdo.
I know a couple of people on here have rerun a wire to make the rear wiper work on an SW. I was wondering if anyone could do a how to?
I have used silver conductive paint on the window and filled in any gaps that were there, but now the rear wiper comes on with the de-mister and nothing happens when I Use the stalk :S
So Im thinking to fix both problems, I can rerun a wire, but Im not sure what to do.
Thanks

Have you checked the wiring between the body & tailgate?
Over time if the tailgate is opened / closed a lot wires inside the rubber conduit can break / short out.

I havent. The rubber looks intact, but Ill have a look.
I've heard that because it is earthed through the rear window and latch that if there is a break in the conductive paint then this would cause the rear wiper not to work anymore.

The rubber can look intact but the wires inside dont like being flexed repeatedly & will fail sooner or later.
The earth for the electrical equipment in the tailgate is fed back through the earth wire near to the main connector plug for the tailgate.
You will most like find wires shorted out inside the rubber conduit, either replace the complete tailgate loom OR solder / heatshrink repair to the damaged wires using suitable cable.
