Just bought a 2006 1.4 16v Sport 206, had a 65 mile motorway journey to get home, just got off motorway and stopped at traffic lights so car on tick over when 'insufficient oil pressure' flashed up and the oil and stop lights came on.
The clutch and an engine mountain were replaced by the garage before I picked it up, but they also said they had fixed an oil leak on the crank case.
Garage have taken it back but am losing faith in the car as things keep going wrong before I've even had it a day.
anyone got any ideas or any known problems with this???? any davice welcomed as at the moment I just want to try and get my money back, but to be honest I absolutely love the car - but dont want to set myself up for something which is just going to cause problems. has 44,000 miles on the clock - supposedly genuine but starting to think now that it may have been clocked.

Non genuine oil filter can cause this issue.

Purflux or Peugeot / Citroen oil filter only if it was my car.

Oil pressure switch is also worth checking, they are known to leak as they get older which can drown the connector plug for the pressure sensor.

I had low oil pressure come up on my gti the other week... It was fairly low on oil (rookie error) and came up when i went round any corner quickish.

Check your levels see if thats the case?

As above just check the oil level if it's full take it back as could lead to big spending.

Before you even touch anything take it back untouched so t
They cant blame u for anything...there's plenty of good examples out there so u dont need to put up with this...look carefully for a nice standard car with full service history and autodata check it and get aa or rac to do a buyers check on it...its 135quid well spent
