Spotted some d**k in a transit yesterday on that slip road you had your accident on the other week pull out in front of a hgv on the dual carriageway, I never knew Mercedes tractors units had emergency brake assist fitted
Hgv couldn't move over as there was a Jag X type in the outside lane.

Lol i swear that slip road is accident prone ever since they marked it with those markers, i have never had issue before they marked it.
Making the road more narrow is just stupid.

It's always been marked, the chevron's where on the right hand side for years, since they moved them over to the left hand side its got worse.

Yeah i knew the right was marked but it slowly rubbed off the road, the one on left hand side definitely made it worse. I wonder if they got bored or something and had some paint left and just decide to mark left hand side too.

Still don't get it as you've asked, sounds a bit bizarre to say the least. But as long as you do that's all that matters.

Not charged anyone yet, as there was no proof of him speeding, just the word of my brother against him and the damage to the car.
I was basically asking if I should take the plunge with a 1.4HDi, and asking if they were reliable or not.

You have said that the police report says that Land Rover driver was doing 45mph, but then say that there was no proof of him speeding. Your brother could say that the speed was in excess of 30mph (if he wasn't panicking and hitting the wrong pedal), but unless he could see the speedo at the time he couldn't say what speed the Land Rover was doing. Try standing at the side of the road and accurately guess the speed of the cars that are going past. Not easy.
I would question your brothers ability to drive if he hit the clutch thinking it was the brake. The majority of people use their right foot to brake, so it is near on impossible to accidentally hit the clutch with your right foot.
This seems like one of infos usual c**k and bull stories about a collision where someone is trying to lay the blame somewhere else or isn't being 100% accurate with the version of events.

You might want to wait a month or two until these price revised policies come in....they are walloping womens quotes putting them up inline with us blokes and lowering our mens to meet womens prices to match for equality...good for us single men but we may not benefit at all...just more fuckix money...
Also avoid these speciality sites like young driver specialist or sports car specialists...they're just more expensive...focus on comparison sites or even try and find an insurance broker rather than a provider......finally if you see site"martins money advice"you will find all those little tricks that combine to bring quotes down like occupation renaming, cars colour,postcode,etc.etc...
Maybe a little polo(great cars)or clio or mazda 323 3door or even a mini if your a fan and really suffering with mental insurance quotes...if your not that desperate yet you can always barter with them and try adding your mum or dad or similar to your policy as they can often bring costs down without too much hassle maintaining your ncb..

I didn't come here to be questioned about the accident. Yes it seems like a c**k and bull story, however I've just told you how I was told it happened. It's still an ongoing investigation, so no-ones been put at fault yet. I'm going off of what my brother told me and what the police took notes on from the scene of the accident, so don't come at me with this b******s about making stuff up.
To everyone else - thank you for your help! I've decided to go with a 1.4HDi for the amazing fuel economy reasons, and the fact that there are a couple around my area being sold.

Like my accident it can take upto 6months for them to decide what they want do,if you don't hear anything then you're perfectly fine but if you are then be prepared to take fall if happens if they prosecute you/brother and you will probably get points on licence and fine. Worst case they could ban you from driving or disqualify you but highly doubt it if noone was injured or killed thankfully.

I doubt I will personally get any punishment because I wasn't in the car or driving at the time. I think it'll probably go down as the fault of both drivers personally.

That would of been case if the police wasn't involved but because they are they will take it step further, you won't get punished but your brother may get punished but like i said it can take upto 6months. But again the worst may not even happen and it just be insurance deal with it all.
