Hey

So heres what i did without thinking, I have a key with remote central locking but my case was a degrading, had a button missing etc so i bought a new case, that has the two sides and an uncut blade.

so it came - i opened up my old one, swapped the board containing the bat (the whole thing) over to the new case, swapped the key blade over. Went outside, opened my car, got in, turn key, nothing.

Started motor is going, no spark. Oh no, i'd just immbolised my engine. Lucky i had a spare non remote key at home, got it turned the car on right away, fires no probem. Now, im guessing the chip in my remote key has reset for some strange reason even though it still unlocks my car?

And without going to a pug specialist, how would i go about making my car realise again its just me with a new platic housing on my remote key?

Cheers

Very Happy

Sure you've not left the chip in the original key? Or not put the chip in the right place?

Did you swap the little black transponder chip that hides in the corner of the case over?

I'm gonna say the same as guys said,I think that you forgot to swap the immobilser Chip, because replacing the cover won't make the immobilser not working, but regarding the key fob not working, you can do this:

1. Insert the Ignition Key.

2. Press the small Black button (Lock Button)

3. Switch the Ignition ON

4. Keep the lock button pressed for 10 seconds.

5. Release lock button , switch ignition OFF and remove key.

6. Close all doors and press the lock button 2 times.

NOTE : If PLIPS still do not work, start the vehicle and then turn OFF. Open and close the door, and check PLIP again.

Yep you are not the only one, same thing happened to me and I should have known about the transponder. I threw away my old key case before realising; luckily the bins hadn't been collected so we were able to retrieve it after searching a few black bags (not nice!). Embarassed
