As above, sometimes I feel that it is less efficient than it should be.

Is there any way of having normal intermittent front window wiping?

Firstly I want to be able to disable the automatic wiping (I don't know how to do this) because it rubs and makes a horrible noise when the windows aren't wet enough, and secondly I am wondering if there is a setting that allows normal intermittent wiping? The next position after "auto" is constant steady wiping, usually the one above intermittent in most cars.

Can someone please advise?

Have you moved the switch marked auto or the stalk to the off position?

Unless I'm not looking properly there isn't an "auto off" setting.

It goes (from bottom of the stalk to top):

Wipers off in general
AUTO
Then fast wiping
Then very fast wiping

There are no more stalk options.

There is a button on the end but that is used to change through your options on the centre console i.e. how much petrol you have to go, miles to next service, average MPG and so on.

Would be grateful to know how to turn it off, even if I am being a bit dumb?

You have either intermittent or auto, not both. Just move the stalk to off and hey presto the auto wipers won't come on automatically when it rains. What you can do though is move your finger 2 inches and move the stalk downwards to do a single wipe. I use that function more than I do the intermittent or normal wipe mode.

If you want them off permanently just disconnect one of the wires on the rain sensor.

It is a pain in the a**e having no set intermitent wipe...seems the most common level of rain when the set intermitent would be usefull...usefull 1 sweep every 3 seconds or so...aukward.and annoying.

Yeah, it never seems to get the wiping at the right time. So I often end up turning it off and doing my own wiper timing 'manually'. Normal intermittent wipe can be annoying too, if the interval is wrong. A good setup seems to be variable time intermittent wiping.

Is it not possible to fit an indicator stalk off a lower model 206 and do some coding?

It is quite irritating, mine hardly wipe when its raining, yet if I get a drop from a tree or something, they go mad!

I just swear at them a lot!

In PP2000, go to BSI configuration and disable 'rain-sensor'.
This then makes the 'Auto' setting to be interminent mode.

Do it preferably with a genuine interface as clones are a bit risky for modifying parameters in ECU/BSI.
You might have to search-around for a garage with one, or take your chance with someone's clone near you.
