Anyone know how the Interior lights work?

I understand that the switch is built into the lock but for some reason when the drivers door is open the light dosnt come on which is fair enough if the switch is faulty.....

But with the lights on and the doors open the alarm to warn you that the lights are on works....

Faulty switch in door then, the alarm is for the headlights/side lights if left on upon removing ignition keys and opening the door. (the alarm has nothing to do with interior lights).

would the headlight/sidelight alarm not use the same door switch?

Or does it just work off he keys being removed from the ignition?

Pop out the overhead light and check the toggle switch and the connections and metal parts of the switch itself . Mine wasn't working when I bought it and I noticed the internals are a bit like bad lego pieces. Just make sure they are all pushed home properly in their housings.

More likely to be the light unit than the door switch as people need to pull it apart to change the bulb! Sometimes the switch in the door jam rusts inside the pilar but check the above first.
