I've just bought a 2002 1.6 XSI and 'Airbag Fault' comes up on the display.. How can I turn it off? I'm useless at car stuff, but other than this the car is really clean and tidy...
The drivers seat is ripped/or unstitched on the side where the airbag cover is, so guessing it was deployed at some point?
Although I'm not certain as it could just be coming unstitched.. Is there somewhere that could just switch it off so it will go through MOT etc? Anywhere in Hampshire? Been quoted £40 but he also said that it wouldn't necessary clear it.. As it might be data stuck in the airbag ECU, but I don't understand so need some advice.. Is there not a fuse of something.....? It's only a run around so I'd like it to disappear!! Thanks.

Fixing the fault or faults with the srs system will turn the airbag light automatically.
Until you have the srs system fault codes scanned so you know what the fault / faults are with the system, your just p**sing in to the wind.
