i have been removing wiring in the car and the last stint saw the car not starting, i started on the fuse box and bsi unit, its a 2000 reg gti, the fuel pump live (white wire ion ds footwell) goes to the connector block then splitts to a yellow and pink wire but i have cut them at the connector and cant find where they end up, the fuse box has all wires in for the pump so at a dead end unless it goes to another connector first,
second the imobiliser seems to be active as there is no spark i have removed the sensors for the alarm and central locking but the car stilll fired as they were removed ages ago, also with the bsi it beebs and the power steering and ecu make the same noises but the wipers come on when i tur the ignition
anyone that can shed light on this ??

I was starting the car after cutting but didn't one day as I was mainly removing dead wires but can't find the wires with the right serial codes so at a real dead end atm going to a scrap yard one day when I can to look at the wiring which should help but the odds of it been a gti are slim. Worst case I get a standalone ecu and wire that in with universal switches for lights etc. I assume it's immobiliser being the main problem but there are no diagrams for it that I can find

Just a little nervous about it as the interior wasn't too difficult but re wiring the engine to a new ecu seems a little daunting. It wouldn't be a waste of money or costly mistake as throttle bodies will be happening at some point

Don't know why you'd cut any wiring to the back of the car. So little of it can actually be removed. If anything is redundant then don't cut, just remove the pins from the plugs and take the wiring out.
