Tryed to search up to find my answer but as per the search feature is poor lol
206gti 1999 - Having cooling problems, car doesnt ever warm up properly even after i have driven for 10 minutes temp stays under 70 and oil barely moves unless its driven for half hour +
Every now and again it will get up to 90+ 110 max then the fan kicks in and cools it straight back to under 70 and will often stay under 70 for length of time
changed the thermostat as i thought it was that but i dont think it is now as it is opening and closing
Wonder what else it could be, should it take half hour for oil to get warm ?
And the fan is cooling to much

did you considered replacing the Coolant sensor?

Normal for oil to take at least 20 mins to warm up, and stay around 90. My water temp takes about 5-10 mins depending on outside temp and sticks around 80 when moving, hits 90 when stood still, can kicks in around 95

i havent yet, just thought id get a few things to note what it could be, do u know if having it code read would bring up that sort of fault ?

thats how mine did work 1 or 2 week ago, now more or less the dials are just showing the cars cold, will code reading bring up this type of fault ?

Code readings didn't bring anything on mine's.
I had coolant temperature sensor gone (on 2.0 HDi it's only one with 3 pins)
One pin goes to ECU (the one that began failing), the other to temperature gauge, read the last bit of this post: www.206info.co.uk/Foru...tml#589661

well such a fault will not be shown in code reading,so to eliminate this cause,you can buy a new one,it's around 15 GBP from ebay,just make sure to have one that match your car model.
